To-Do: 

  • Take a trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the Taylor Swift Education Center which displays key instruments used by Swift and several artifacts from her early career. 
  • Go honky tonking: go to a honky tonk bar on Broadway, Nashville’s famous street, and experience the neon lights and live music of the city. You never know who you’ll see- famous country singers like Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton own actual bars on Broadway that you can visit! See where many of them began their careers.  
  • Take a trip to the Nashville Farmers Market featuring a wide variety of local food, produce, classes, and chef demos. 
  • Visit Green Hills, an affluent neighborhood of Nashville and only a 15 minute drive from Vanderbilt’s campus. This area is home to premier shopping, dining, and upscale boutiques and is one of the most desired places to live in Nashville.

Where to Shop: 

  • Take a trip to Music Row where you will find many authentic cowboy boot shops- most with a “buy three for the price of one” deal! 
  • Lower Broadway is a great shopping destination with a number of shops and boutiques  
  • The Downtown Nashville neighborhood is great for food, drinks, and live music, but it is also home to many great shopping options. Most of the shops are found at Fifth + Broadway, a mixed-use, modern building that holds 30+ stores, office spaces, and restaurants. Go here if you are looking for popular chain stores like Lululemon, Free People, and more.  

Restaurants: 

  • Sunda: Amazing Asian restaurant with lively atmosphere 
  • Hattie B’s Hot Chicken: Popular southern spot serving fried chicken, sandwiches, and fries. Casual and typically has a line down the street 
  • Kayne Prime: Upscale, delicious steakhouse with incredible views of the city.
