“I wish I had known this when I was getting ready to go to college…” is said by nearly every parent after seeing the results of our Myers Briggs assessment.
We believe that sometimes it’s important to let data drive the decision-making. This is especially so when dealing with emotionally-charged, potentially life-altering choices like choosing the right college or career path.
Therefore, in our programs, we combine science with intuition and begin our college admissions planning with a scientifically designed assessment: The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The MBTI has been designed to help our rising 11th and 12th grade students pinpoint their occupational preferences and provide additional data-driven insight into which courses, college majors and careers are uniquely suited to their potential and preferences.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® is a widely used psychometric personality test that can help you choose the right career path. The MBTI® assigns one of 16 distinct personality types to each individual based on his/her preferences for interacting with the world. It measures individual preferences in four different areas:
Favorite World: Where you get your inspiration
Information: How you interpret information
Decisions: How you make big and small decisions
Structure: Whether you prefer open-ended or defined
Career: Occupational interests
This assessment is not an exam! It does not measure aptitude (whether you can do something). It helps you determine IF you should do something.
Therefore, there are no wrong answers. All you have to do is choose the answers that fit best with who you think you are, and they will (hopefully) help you to figure out who you might become.
